E-BCI

Nanochap’s E-BCI consists of an Implant Device and a Wearable Kit. The Wearable Kit captures images from the surrounding environment through a miniature camera, converts optical signals into electrical signals, and processes them using neural encoding algorithms before wirelessly transmitting the signals to the Implant Device. The high-density electrode array within the Implant Device delivers electrical stimulation to the retina based on the encoded information, generating neural signals that mimic natural visual signaling. These signals are then transmitted along the visual pathway to the visual cortex, forming artificial visual perception composed of light spots and grayscale information. E-BCI is primarily intended for patients with blindness who have an intact eye structure and preserved optic nerve and visual cortical pathways. Multicenter clinical trials are currently underway.
